We are looking for a hybrid Backend & DevOps Engineer to help deliver the MVP for a new workflow automation platform. You’ll architect and implement robust backend services and cloud infrastructure, ensuring a scalable, observable, and reliable system from the outset.

What you will be doing

Backend Engineering:

  • Build and maintain REST APIs using Python

  • Design and manage relational databases (PostgreSQL)

  • Implement asynchronous event-driven flows using Kafka or AWS Kinesis

  • Integrate third-party APIs and services for dynamic content and user interactions

DevOps & Infrastructure:

  • Build and manage infrastructure using Terraform

  • Configure CI/CD pipelines using Buildkite or GitHub Actions

  • Implement observability with tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog

  • Manage secrets, environment configs, and secure cloud architecture (AWS/GCP)

  • Enable automated deployment to staging and production environmentsPython

We are right for you if you have:

  • 4+ years in backend development (Python)
  • 3+ years DevOps experience in cloud environments (AWS/GCP)
  • Experience with a SQL variant, Redis, or Mongo
  • Event-driven architecture or LLM integrations
  • Strong experience with Kafka or Kinesis for event brokering
  • Proficiency in Terraform, CI/CD pipeline tools, and infrastructure security
